In my bright green cycling jacket and helmet in hand I walked into Johane Matte’s room to say good morning how was your weekend…blah…blah…blah, when all of a sudden a beautiful raptor landed just outside her window. I love birds and bird watching, but hawks are tricky for me. I think this is either an immature red tail- dark morph or a rough legged dark morph. The hawk stayed for about an hour perched on the railing while nearly everyone on the guardians crew came by to see the bird of prey. Johane was kind enough to lend me a pen and paper so I could scribble a few sketches.

Can anyone tell me definitively what kind of raptor this is?
Probably a kite.
