Don’t put your cart before the dog

When my wife Tiffany and I learned about dog carting we wanted to try it. A vintage throw back to Victorian times when little children were pulled by collies and Labradors instead of motorized scooters and mini cars with plastic wheels. Back then dogs weren’t just poop producing affection machines, they were workers; pulling groceries, children and the occasional adult.

Following a combination of instructions I found online I went about transforming an old dilapidated radio flyer wagon into a dog cart for beginners.  First we had to sand and paint the radio flyer, then we replaced the wagon handle with pvc piping which we made for into two parallel poles to attach the dog and harness. Our dog has turned out to be a natural at pulling the cart, we’ve also found it a useful way to get some of her puppy energy out.
